Weza Root
Where roots find each other.
A modern, private home for diaspora and faith communities to stay connected, organize, and remember.
New here? Create an account.
Wezais Swahili for “to be able.” A root is what holds, even after the crossing.
When a community scatters across continents, generations, and faiths, the roots travel with it. Some go quiet. Some get forgotten. Some grow new branches in soil their ancestors never walked.
Weza Rootis for the families and faith groups holding onto what crossed with them. A private, modern home for your community’s directory, gatherings, and continuity. Built so the next generation knows where they’re rooted, and the roots know each other.
What’s inside
Everything a community needs.
Built around how community admins and members actually use a shared, private space.
Member directory
A private place for members to find each other, share what matters, and see who belongs.
Announcements
Notice board for AGMs, condolences, festival dates, and everything the community needs to know.
Events and RSVPs
Post community events, track who is coming, share details. Past events stay as a record.
Business directory
Discover and support member-run businesses inside your community.
Blood request board
Urgent blood-donor needs get visibility fast. Donors reach out off-platform.
Feedback inbox
Members send suggestions or concerns directly to admins. Quiet, honest, accountable.
How it works
Three steps to a living community.
01
Create your community
Pick a subdomain like lohana.wezaroot.co.ke. You become the first admin. Takes about a minute.
02
Invite your members
Generate a private invite link and share it however your community talks. Approve applications from a simple inbox.
03
Stay connected
Members access the directory, post announcements, RSVP to events, list businesses, and reach you with feedback.
Who it’s for
Communities with continuity to keep.
Deliberately not a general-purpose community tool. Designed for groups whose continuity matters more than scale.
Diaspora communities
Lohana, Patel, Maheshwari, Gujarati, Tamil, Kerala, and other heritage networks staying connected across continents.
Faith congregations
Hindu sanghas, Jain sampradayas, Sikh sangats, Muslim jamaats, Christian parishes, and other faith communities.
Alumni networks
School and university alumni groups that want a private space, not another social-media silo.
Trade and civic associations
Industry communities, cooperatives, and member-led civic groups with shared continuity to protect.
Common questions
Answers, briefly.
- Is it private?
- Yes. Each community is fully isolated. Other communities cannot see your members, posts, or activity. We do not read your members' messages or share data outside what is required to run the service.
- How much does it cost?
- Free during early access. We will introduce pricing later with a generous free tier for small communities.
- Can different communities connect with each other?
- Not yet. Cross-community business networking, travel hospitality, and emergency support are planned for v2. Each community is independent for now.
- How do members join?
- Admins generate a private invite link and share it however the community already talks. Anyone with the link can apply. Admins approve or reject each application from a simple inbox.
- Who owns the data?
- You do. We never sell community data. Members can export their own profile. Admins can request a community-wide export at any time.
- Can I add other admins?
- Soon. Today, the founding admin can promote members from a role-management surface that is shipping next. A community can have multiple admins.
- What about email broadcasts to members?
- Coming. For now, important messages go through the in-app announcements feed, which members read on their next visit.
